Vitalik: I no longer believe that 'optimized governance' can be realized, and economics does not perfectly fit society.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik responded to a question raised by former Reddit CEO Yishan Wong on Reddit, admitting that his way of thinking no longer relies so much on economics. He said that he spent several years trying to design mathematically provable optimal governance mechanisms but found that it was almost impossible to achieve. He recognized that non-economic factors such as culture and collaboration were more critical to the success of the system.
